Hello, Genevieve! Choosing the right Walt Disney World Resort hotel is the first step toward making your dream vacation a reality. Some things that I like to take into consideration when deciding which Disney Resort hotel is the best choice for my family's vacations are:
Transportation options - Convenience and proximity to the theme parks and other Disney Resort hotels are key. Both properties that you selected offer boat and bus transportation, but Disney's Polynesian Village Resort also offers monorail service.
On-site dining - Disney's Polynesian Village Resort offers five restaurants and one lounge, and even includes on-site Character Dining at 'Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast. Disney's Wilderness Lodge offers three restaurants and one lounge, including Artist Point - an award-winning Signature Dining experience.
Size and layout of the rooms - Here's where things get a little more interesting. Most standard rooms at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort come equipped with two Queen Beds and a Day Bed, and can accommodate up to five adults. The bathrooms have double sinks in the same space as the toilet and bathtub/shower combo. Most standard rooms at Disney's Wilderness Lodge can accommodate up to four adults in a variety of bed configurations. The bathrooms do have double sinks, and they are in a separate space from the toilet and bathtub/shower combo.
If you'd like to further compare these two excellent Disney Resort hotels, I suggest checking out the
Disney Resort hotel comparison tool. I use it to compare up to four hotels at a time, and have found it to be pretty useful for basic comparisons.
I hope that you and your family have a very magical vacation, Genevieve! If you have any additional questions before your visit, please do not hesitate to stop back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Happy planning!
