Greetings, Holly! Welcome to planDisney! Visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort, aka, the Most Magical Place on Earth, during the most wonderful time of the year, for your family reunion sounds like a scene straight out of a... (wait for it) ...Disney movie!
I took a look at the
Disney PhotoPass Service website, and under Capture Your Moment, I noticed that it is being advertised as the “picture-perfect way to remember your Family Reunion” but also that the party size is limited to eight per session. Unfortunately, I chatted with a friendly Cast Member who confirmed we were both reading the fine print correctly. However, I didn’t give up hope and did more digging for you by calling the
Disney PhotoPass service phone number (located under the Reservations and Tickets section). The Cast Member I spoke with informed me that you could book two back-to-back Capture Your Moment sessions, not only giving you more time for your photo session, but they would accommodate your entire group since each session can accommodate groups of eight. I would recommend contacting them by telephone to confirm and schedule!
If all else fails, I do know from previous trips with my own family, that the Disney PhotoPass photographers located throughout the Walt Disney World Resort at iconic park locations, will take a photo of your entire family. To make life easier on you and the photographer, I would recommend having your entire group wait in line, be ready to go when it is your turn, and just be mindful of the Guests behind you patiently waiting for their turn. Of course, the photographer won’t be able to take multiple shots of multiple groups, but they will take a few shots of your entire family and maybe one or two more of a smaller group if there isn't much of a line.
Wanting to cover all possibilities for you and your family, Holly, another option would be for you to visit the
Disney PhotoPass Studio located in Disney Springs. The studio has fun and unique backdrops, doesn’t require a reservation, and is free of charge! All the images taken at the studio will be linked to your My Disney Experience account for you to then purchase individually, or if you purchase
Memory Maker, you will have unlimited downloads. The only caveat with the Disney PhotoPass Studio is that the green screen used to create the backdrops is only so big, so your group may have to get creative to ensure everyone fits, and it is up to the Cast Member working whether or not your group can be accommodated. Definitely worth...a shot!
Holly, my last recommendation for you since you are planning a family reunion, is to contact
Disney Meetings & Events. They have a Social Events group that specializes in creating unforgettable celebrations for things like birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers, vow renewals, and family reunions! I would recommend
Submitting a Request for a Social Event and seeing what magic the Disney team can work to make your reunion truly memorable.
I hope all of this information helps you with your planning, Holly! If you have any other planning questions, please feel free to
ask me directly, I have some great
Disney Resort Collection ideas that would make your visit even more memorable!
Cheers,
Brent
