We are planning a family cruise for 14 (8 adults and 6 kids) in February 2013. Two families are travelling from the States (Florida and South Carolina) and two families from Ontario. Any suggestions for ports to cruise from and what boat?

    Hi Melanie!

In February 2013, you have three port options- Galveston TX, Miami, FL, and Port Canaveral.  From you locations, I think Port Canaveral is your best bet since it will give you a choice between a seven-night Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy or a shorter three-or four-night Bahamian voyage on the Dream.  They both call on Disney's private island, Castaway Cay!

My personal preference is to go for the seven-night cruise because it gives you more time to relax and enjoy the wonderful amenities and activities on board. The Caribbean has two itineraries-Eastern and Western.  The Eastern has more days at sea while the Western visits four ports of call.  If this time frame seems too long, the four-day cruise is another great option.  Both the Dream and Fantasy are magnificent vessels, and you will love the magical atmosphere created by the Disney Imagineers!
