We are planning an extended family trip to WDW in September 2024. We would like to split our guests between my family and my wife’s side of the family (3 nights and 3 nights). Does this simply require a modification of our guest list at midway point?

Hello Matt, welcome to planDisney! It's always a good day when I can chat with a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member so let's take a look at your question about your upcoming visit this summer.

My family enjoys visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with others and more often than not, like you, we travel with extended family. One of the things I love most about the Disney Vacation Club is the flexibility. You can choose to stay in a Deluxe Studio on a visit with your immediate family, or perhaps travel with a larger group of family or friends and stay in a 2-Bedroom Villa that feels like home! It sounds like your trip is going to be a wonderful one since you're sharing the Disney magic with both sides of the family. I spoke with a Cast Member from Member Services today and learned that the best way to accommodate two different parties is to book separate reservations. This will ensure that you will be able to link everyone to the correct reservation and will also let you add a Disney Dining Plan if you wish. You will be able to link the reservations by speaking with Member Services so that you remain in the same Villa for the entire vacation (so long as it is in the same category).

Traveling with a larger group is a lot of fun and I like to capture memories with the PhotoPass Memory Maker. More often than not, I'm the one who is behind the camera but with Disney Photopass Service, I can be in the photos! With Memory Maker, you can download and share all of your photos and videos with family and friends.

Tip: visit one of three PhotoPass Studios where you can have photos with various backdrops (sometimes they have props too). The PhotoPass Studios can be found at Disney Springs, Sir Mickey's at Magic Kingdom Park, and on the second floor of the main building at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Matt, thanks so much for visiting planDisney, I hope this information is helpful. Have a magical vacation!

    See ya real soon,
    Candace
