Planning a 1st ever Disney trip. My 1st as well, for myself and 7 year old daughter. Trying to choose between AOA Mermaid rooms & ASMovie Fantasia rooms. Which has the shorter walk to the park transportation? .

Hi, Rhonda!  The walk to park transportation is about the same from either location.  You might be a few steps closer with the Mermaid room, but I don't think it's enough that I'd make my decision based solely on that criteria.

I think if I was going to take my own seven year old daughter right now, I'd probably opt for the Art of Animation resort.  And since she is reading this over my shoulder, she is bouncing up and down with excitement!  We love the new Art of Animation resort, and on a recent stay at another resort, we even took a ride over just to grab a quick lunch and to let the kids wander the property.  The themes here are awesome, and I love the Little Mermaid rooms!  My girls - especially that seven year old - love to spot Ariel's thingamabobs as we wander the grounds, and they really like spotting the giant icons of their favorite characters.  We enjoy the food court here, as well as the pool.

You can't go wrong either way, but I think the newness and the food court sway me towards Art of Animation.

Happy planning, and if you need me to help you get through those first time jitters, come on back and see me!
