we are planning a DW trip early nov with our soon to be 5 year old daughter, was wondering if you would use the park hopper option or not. we are planning to visit all 4 parks on our 7 day trip.

    Ashley,

I love the park hopper option.  I think it can be very useful and we enjoy the convenience of being able to come and go as we please, or alter our plans at any time.  That said, if a family is struggling with a budget, this is also one of the first things that I recommend trimming.  You can still have a fantastic Disney vacation without the hopper option - it just takes a little more planning.

Because you wouldn't be able to jump around, you'll need to check the park hours and decide where you want to be each day.  Then you'll need to make your dining reservations accordingly, eating either in the same park or at a resort hotel.

I think 7 days in the parks will work out quite well for you.  I generally recommend that a family allow 2 days each in Magic Kingdom and Epcot, and 1 day each in Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.  This will allow you one additional day to return to the park you enjoyed the most (for a 5-year-old, my money's on the Magic Kingdom!)

    Have a great vacation!
