Ahoy, Marie!
2018 will be a magical year with a Disney Dream Cruise to look forward to in January! A visit to Nassau and Disney's island, Castaway Cay will be the perfect escape from the cold and hectic holiday season.
Disney Cruise Line does offer
internet for a fee through their Connect@Sea program. There are four options available including "Pay-As-You-Go," and small, medium and large megabyte packages. These packages range from around $20.00 for 100 MB to around $90.00 for 1,000 MB. The internet onboard runs on satellite technology so you can expect it to move a little slower than what you experience at home. Disney Cruise Line has been offering 50 MB free per stateroom on sailings. Check the back of your first cruise newsletter, the Personal Navigator, for the details because you'll need to sign up by midnight of Day One to receive the special offer. If you do decide to purchase internet, be sure to ask questions at the Connect@Sea desk and pick up a handout about what things to turn off on your device to maximize your megabytes.
If you want to disconnect completely, you can use the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. The app allows you to text other family members and has all the ship's happenings right at your fingertips. You can even check the nightly dinner menu from your device! It is easy to communicate with family members because they will be on your chat screen when you connect to the ship's Wi-Fi. Each member will have their own code and adorable Disney emojis to add to messages! The app works with any Apple or Android device while it is in airplane mode. It will not work in Nassau, but I've had luck using it on Castaway Cay. Be sure everyone downloads the app so you can have it ready to go in January and use it as a countdown while you wait!
