    Planning on doing the steam train tour for 10 yr old son. Thinking maybe do the tour the day we depart, but will no longer have park admission at that point. Is valid park admission required for this tour? We would not remain in park after the tour.

Being an amateur Disney historian and train enthusiast, Disney's The Magic Behind Our Steam Trains Tour is on my ever-growing list of special tours to go on. I am sure you and your son would enjoy it. Like other Magic Kingdom Events & Tours, The Magic Behind Our Steam Trains Tour does require valid theme park admission. This tour would be ideal for your final day at Walt Disney World, but I understand the difficulty due to the admission requirement. Perhaps you can take advantage of it on another day!
