Hello, I am planning a Disneyland proposal this December and wanted to see if it is possible to have a Disneyland photographer capture the special moment?

    Welcome to planDisney, Ariel!

Oh my goodness, what an exciting time in your life this is! You've found the one who makes your heart sing and now you want to seal the deal with a proposal and ring! I can’t think of a more perfect place to start your happily ever after story than at The Happiest Place on Earth.

Ariel, the Disneyland Resort used to offer a special photography package called Capture Your Moment for occasions such as this, but, alas, this service ended on October 17th. Don’t let that dampen your hopes and dreams though, because I have an idea or two that might just work in its place.

Purchase Disney PhotoPass+ One Day for your planned proposal date, and let Disneyland Resort’s amazing Disney PhotoPass photographers capture this joyous occasion for you. This ensures you’ll be able to download every snapshot of what’s sure to be one of the most magical moments in your life. Scope out the perfect proposal location ahead of time using the interactive map feature in your Disneyland mobile app. Click the drop-down menu in the top-middle of the map and select “PhotoPass” to view available Disney PhotoPass spots for the day. When you arrive at your location of choice, have your significant other snap some solo shots while you covertly tell the photographer what you’re about to do. They’ll have their camera aimed and ready for your special moment.

You also have the option of bringing a photographer of your choosing with you that day to capture your proposal, as long as their photos are for personal use and not for professional or commercial purposes. If you go with this option, make sure you and your photographer are following all rules and regulations set forth by the Disneyland Resort. You'll also want to leave any prohibited equipment items at home.

Once you hear that resounding “YES!” from your special someone, be sure to pick up a complimentary “Happily Ever After” celebration button for each of you from City Hall in Disneyland Park or Guest Relations in Disney California Adventure Park. Wear it proudly to let the world know of your joyous news! I suggest gluing ribbons to the back of your buttons when you return home to turn them into special keepsake ornaments of your special day.

I hope this information proves useful, Ariel. If you think of anything else we can help with, please stop by planDisney again. Have a wonderful trip!

The best is yet to come,

    Alyssa
