We are planning on going to Disneyland in October. Anything we should know or things for us to do!?!?! My son loves the Nightmare before Xmas and my children are only 3 and 4. Didn't know if there are special character meals etc. Thanks!

    Hi Mary,

You will have a spooktacular time visiting the Disneyland Resort in October. Especially since your children love Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas because The Haunted Mansion attraction gets filled with Jack and all his Halloween Town residents to become The Haunted Mansion Holiday. You will often find Jack Skellington and Sally in New Orleans Square for a picture and autograph.
Our kids love to visit Big Thunder Ranch and stop off for a Halloween craft time break and see a few Disney Characters in their Halloween costumes. It's a good time to relax while you watch the talents of pumpkin carvers.
As your trip gets closer you will want to check Disneyland.com for Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland Park for the ticket information. This trick-or-treat party will require a separate admission as it is well anticipated and only held on special nights. Adults get to dress up in costumes too!
We love to experience Character Dining meals on our vacations. It's one of the easiest ways to get your picture taken with some of your favorite characters while enjoying a lovely meal. There are 5 to choose from:
Disney's PCH Grill located at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel.
Ariel's Grotto located at Paradise Pier at Disney California Adventure Park.
Goofy's Kitchen located at the Disneyland Hotel.
Plaza Inn located on Main Street, U.S.A. in the Disneyland Park.
Storyteller's Cafe located in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
Our favorite character dining experiences are the Ariel's Grotto because you are dining "Under the Sea while Disney Princesses move about the dining room and make a royal visit to your table. Also Storyteller's Cafe because Chip 'n Dale and their pals visit your table while you dine on a hearty buffet. I do suggest you book a reservation by calling Disneyland Dining at (714) 781- DINE, to insure your party has a table.

    Wishing you magic!
