We are planning a Disney trip Jan 29-30th & will have hopper tickets. We’re bummed it looks like there will be no fireworks or parades? & looks like the Hyperion theatre is also closed? Wondering if there will be any other shows/events going on?

    Hello Jordan!

Your trip to the Disneyland Resort is rapidly approaching and we here at planDisney are ready to help you prepare for your visit.

I checked the Daily Events Schedule on the Disneyland website, and confirmed that fireworks and parades are not currently scheduled for either January 29th or 30th. However, there are some other fantastic entertainment offerings you might want to check out!

In Disneyland, Mickey’s Mix Magic will bring the party atmosphere to the park at 9:30 pm each night. This 10-minute extravaganza combines remixed versions of classic Disney hits (such as “Friend Like Me”, “Grim Grinning Ghosts” and “Let It Go”) with spectacular projections, lights and lasers. DJ Mickey himself cranks up the volume as Sleeping Beauty Castle, the facade of “it’s a small world”, and Main Street U.S.A. each provide unique views of the show. My Q-Tip? Head to Main Street for the most immersive experience!

Over at Disney California Adventure, World of Color - One is offered both nights at 9 pm. This breathtaking show uses water, projections and other effects to spotlight the storytelling legacy of Walt Disney. Highlights include moments from several iconic films, such as The Lion King, Ratatouille, and The Avengers. A personal favorite is the Star Wars segment. Hearing the John Willams score., mixed with the water effects and projections, gives me goosebumps! Be sure to join the virtual queue at noon each day to secure a reserved viewing location in Paradise Bay. Keep in mind that this viewing area is standing room only.

Finally, don’t forget you can meet Disney Characters throughout both Disneyland and California Adventure. The easiest way to see which characters are out and about is to download the Disneyland App.  The Characters tab within the app shows which characters are available, where to find them, and what times they’ll be out and about. You’ll have the chance to meet Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars characters. In fact, going on a character hunt is a great way to enhance your day in the parks!

I hope this helps, Jordan! As you can see, there are many ways to experience entertainment at the Disneyland Resort. If you have any other questions as your trip approaches, don’t hesitate to stop by planDisney again!

    Wishing you a magical visit,

    David
