Hiya Jazzma,
Welcome to
planDisney! Let me be the first to wish your daughter a Happy Birthday! Birthdays are always special, but when you celebrate them at Walt Disney World Resort, they also become magical! Be sure to pick up a Celebration Button for your Mouseketeer when you arrive so that everyone can join in on the magic and send your daughter many beautiful wishes for her 10th birthday.
Jazzma, thank you for this question. Your daughter will go from a
child ticket to an adult ticket during your vacation, which is quite a milestone for multiple reasons. I spoke to a Cast Member, and the official Walt Disney World Resort policy is that when purchasing tickets, you should use the age your child would be turning while traveling. Since you mentioned your daughter would be turning ten during your trip, this would mean your daughter would need an “adult” ticket for their birthday trip. Depending on how many days you are visiting, you could potentially purchase tickets for the child’s price for the days leading up to her birthday and then swap to an adult ticket from her birthday on. If, after doing the math, it ends up being better for your family, I say go for it!
I hope this was helpful, Jazzma. I know it will be a magical birthday trip, but if there is anything you need from us to help you make it even more special, please come back and see us.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
