“
I am planning a Disney Land/Sea vacation.- 3 days on land/4 at sea. Our son is 14 and daughters are 9 and 7. .We check in to the Polynesian on 1/1 - 1/3. Are there any "mature" character meals you can suggest, based on their ages? No princess”
At the Polynesian there is a character meal at 'Ohana; Lilo, Stitch, Mickey and Pluto are all present for the Best Friends Breakfast. A short monorail ride away is Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort, which features Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto for both breakfast and dinner.
Also on the monorail at the Grand Floridian Resort you can find 1900 Park Fare. At breakfast this beautiful restaurant welcomes Alice in Wonderland, the Mad Hatter, Pooh, Tigger, and Mary Poppins. I know Pooh and Tigger may not appeal to the older set, but the other three are very jovial and great fun for all ages.
At dinner 1900 Park Fare has a new set of character hosts including Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine (stepmother), Anastasia and Drizella (stepsisters). I know that you said no princesses, but I really feel this meal deserves serious consideration. You don't have to go for Cinderella, though undoubtedly younger girls are in awe. The character interaction at this meal is like none other, a real first for Disney. Just as they were in the movie, the stepsisters are very mischievous and still envious of Cinderella. They don't behave very well at dinner either I'm afraid! It's hard to describe exactly what you'll experience here, but suffice it to say that there will be no shortage of laughter. The attitude of the stepmother was spot-on what you'd expect, and the antics of the stepsisters kept us in stitches. If you want to play along, think of some great questions for the sisters - they love having material to feed from! (I suggest something along the lines of..."Has Cinderella gained weight?" or "The Prince really isn't that charming in person, is he?") They will have a field day with it if they know you're happy to play along! So yes, it does have a princess, but I have to say I think her sisters steal the show on this one!
