We were planning on going to Disney for Halloween 2014 but I hear it can be very crowded. Is this true for the whole week or usually just the day of Oct 31? When are the least crowded times of the year?

Hi there Lisa! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question! How exciting you are starting the planning process for your Walt Disney World vacation in 2014!  I love visiting the "Most Magical Place on Earth" in the fall!  The busiest times of the year to visit are generally when the kids are out of school for Spring Break, summer, and any Holiday breaks such as Presidents' Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special event held on select nights at Magic Kingdom Park in September and October. Halloween night is a very popular day to attend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party so you may see an increase in crowds at this particular event. With that being said, most schools do not break for the entire week of Halloween so I would not personally avoid this week. The independent website allears.net features a Historic Attendance Levels chart which categorizes the "lowest attendance" times of the year as January, with the exception of New Year's Day, until just prior to Presidents' Week, the week following Labor Day until the week prior to Thanksgiving (except for Columbus Day Weekend,) and the week following Thanksgiving until the middle of December. I hope this information helps in making your decision. Please don't hesitate to write me back with any additional questions that you may have. Best wishes for a magical trip, Lisa!
    Happy Planning,
    Jodie
