Hi, we are planning a Disney Cruise The week of March 18th of 2017 and I would like to run a marathon the Cataway Private island. How can I get all the information I need and also how to register? Thank you,

    Ahoy Glenda!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm thrilled to hear you are planning a magical voyage with Disney Cruise Line in 2017! The planning and anticipation is almost as much fun as the cruise itself, so it's an exciting time as you finalize all the pixie dusted details of your vacation.
Castaway Cay, Disney's little slice of Bahamian paradise, is my favorite cruise destination to visit!  When you disembark the ship, you will be in awe of the natural beauty and whimsical Disney details surrounding you! It will be a memorable day for sure!
As a runner myself, I love that Disney Cruise Line and runDisney offer the Castaway Cay 5K on the island. The three miles is on a flat terrain with some shady spots to keep you cool. Registration takes place on the ship prior to arrival at Castaway Cay so be sure to stop by either the Port Adventures Desk or Guest Services to register. Directions for race morning will be provided at this time, but usually you can plan on meeting the other runners and cruise staff on the ship around 8:00-8:15 a.m. Everyone will depart together, and the race will begin at the Bike Rentals just past the Pelican Point tram stop. After the race, colorful runDisney medals are awarded and make a perfect keepsake from this unique event along with the adorable runDisney race bibs provided. In the past, Castaway Cay 5K t-shirts have been available for purchase in the shop Buy the Seashore (located next to the starting line). Once aboard, be sure to keep an eye out for details about the race in your daily cruise newsletter, the Personal Navigator.
I'm so glad you stopped by with your question, Glenda! If you think of any others, please let us know!
    Have a magical day!
