Hi Sandra,
Thanks for sailing by with a question for us! As a born and raised Jersey girl, I've made the long drive down Interstate 95 to
Walt Disney World Resort plenty of times. We almost always rely on
complimentary transportation between our
Disney Resorts Collection hotel and the theme parks each day of our visit, but we love having our own vehicle to get us to the port on embarkation day. We've also been known to overpack on past occasions, so it's helpful to load up our own car and avoid luggage costs on checked bags during flights.
While you'll enjoy
complimentary self-parking at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel during your stay, unfortunately, you won't be able to leave your vehicle there while you set sail. Parking is reserved for registered guests and leaving your vehicle there for 5-7 days while you are at sea would reduce the available parking for guests checking in while you are away. My family did utilize
Ground Transportation from our resort to
Port Canaveral Cruise Terminal on one trip, but we found driving our own car to the cruise terminal to be more budget-friendly while giving us more flexibility on timing. Keep in mind that transportation between Walt Disney World Resort and the Cruise Terminal is priced per person each way. A
parking deck is available at Port Canaveral and we've found the rates to be very reasonable. We also enjoy having our own vehicle so we can select an early Port Arrival time and board the ship on our own schedule.
I reached out to a Disney Cruise Line Crew Member and they confirmed that Ground Transportation is only available between Port Canaveral and Walt Disney World Resort or Orlando International Airport. There is no transportation available between
Disney's Vero Beach Resort and Port Canaveral at this time. If you'd like to add Ground Transportation to your cruise reservation you can do so by
contacting (800) 951-3532.
I hope this was helpful Sandra. If we can answer any additional questions please don't hesitate to let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
