Planning a Disney Cruise vacation on the Disney Dream in July 2013- it's just going to be me (mom age 39) and my son (age 8)- wondering what Port Adventure in Nassau would be the most FUN for us to do together? How about in Castaway Cay?

    Hey there Nicole!
It sounds like you are planning a special vacation for just you and your prince!
I would love to give you some recommendations that will make your time ashore just as memorable as the moments you will share onboard. On Nassau, the Blue Lagoon Island Sea Lion Encounter is a great experience if your son enjoys marine mammals. It lasts about four hours so it is just long enough that you can still have some time to get back to the ship for a late lunch and pool time!  If you are looking for a bit more, the Atlantis Dolphin Cay and Aquaventure is a full day of fun which begins with a dolphin encounter then off for splashtacular fun at the resort's water park.
When on Castaway Cay you can't go wrong with Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure.  It only lasts about an hour, but is packed full of educational information and hands-on interaction. After the stingray exploration, a nice bike ride around the island is a perfect way to see the natural beauty of Disney's Bahamian oasis.  Both of these adventures won't take up much time at all so there will still be an opportunity to soak up some rays and take a dip in the crystal, blue waters.
I hope my suggestions help, Nicole!  I'm sure you will love whatever you and your son choose to do!
Thanks for the question and I hope to hear from you again soon!
