I am planning to Disney bound as Tinker Bell for my trip to Disney World and want to wear wings. Am I going to get dressed coded for this?

Here we goooo! Welcome to Neverland, Alicia, or as I like to call it, planDisney. You'll be soaring over Walt Disney World Resort soon, so I hope you've packed your pixie dust. Let's look at dress code rules to help you look the part for your magical visit.

I recently discovered the art of Disneybounding! I love dressing comfortably in homage to a favorite character by mimicking their color scheme and adding accessories. My favorite was when I Disneybounded at Mr. Smee! I wore a striped tee, a red beanie, and sandals. When Smee saw me during the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, he gave me a deep bow and made my day!

Dressing to honor Tinker Bell is a fabulous way to celebrate your love of this classic character! I chatted with an ageless Cast Member who said the Property Rules don't specifically address wings as an accessory, and she pointed out that many shops in the theme parks sell fairy wings. You should be fine if the wings you wear are relatively small and don't interfere with other guests' comfort and safety. But remember that Cast Members and security personnel have the final say in dress code decisions.

I recommend having a purse or tote in case you're asked to remove the wings for any attractions or activities. Locker rentals are also available at the theme parks to store your means of flight. I remember when my Smee beanie made me hot, so I put it in my backpack until the parade!

If you'd like to see your favorite sprite during your day at Magic Kingdom Park, you can usually see her in the Festival of Fantasy Parade. And when the weather cooperates, you can often watch Tink fly across the sky during the Happily Ever After nighttime spectacular. While Peter Pan's bestie doesn't have a character meet at this time, you can sometimes request a Magic Shot with her at the Royal Portrait Studio inside Sir Mickey's. I recently had Tinker Bell appear in a Magic Shot in front of Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway at Disney's Hollywood Studios, so you never know where the little dickens will pop up!

Alicia, I'm thinking happy thoughts so you'll have a magical visit! Please stop by planDisney anytime, and give Mr. Smee my regards.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
