Hello, Catherine!
Welcome to planDisney! We are so glad you are here. I love that you are planning for your Alaskan adventure in 2027! There is a lot to research with this type of cruise, and starting early is the best way to tackle it.
The
Alaskan Port Adventure list is filled with amazing excursions that will give your family a taste of the Alaskan wildlife. While some activities will book up more quickly than others, having a few options selected for each port will give you some flexibility when your
booking window opens. Since you have time on your side, my advice is to research each
port, pick several
Port Adventures that sound intriguing, and order those by preference. As you make your list, I suggest paying attention to the minimum age requirements and the length of the excursion. When my children were younger, we liked to be off the ship no longer than four to five hours. Once your booking window gets closer, you can revisit the list to make sure these still fit your family's needs. Also, some excursions are offered multiple times per day, so there may be opportunities where one session is full, but another slot is still available.
My family sailed on the Disney Wonder to
Alaska and also wanted to experience the incredible wildlife and scenery this area provides. We enjoyed the
Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's Tour,
Musher's Camp and Dog Sled Experience, and visiting the
Mendenhall Glacier on our cruise. With that said, I do think there are so many fantastic offerings, including ones with bears, eagles, and whales. When I was planning our cruise, I wanted to mix up our modes of transportation, since Alaska offers so many options, like helicopters, trains, various watercraft, and seaplanes. This is also something your children might enjoy experiencing.
Catherine, I hope I've helped you chart your planning course for your 2027 Alaska cruise. Please let us know if you have any other questions about exploring the Last Frontier with Disney Cruise Line.
