we are planning a dec 09 trip to disney. It is my first trip and my son is going to turn 2 while we are down there. What do you recommend as the best resort to stay with a 2 year old? Is it better to stay on the monorail so that we can get back for naps

Hi Marissa, without a doubt, being at a resort on the monorail does make it easier with little ones.  Now with that said, all Disney resorts are great and it depends on your budget.  If your budget allows for a deluxe resort, then I absolutely recommend one of the resorts on the monorail.  These would include Grand Floridian, Polynesian or the Contemporary.  It is so easy to get to the MK from here, and with a two year old, you are going to see a lot of the MK.
If you enjoy Epcot, there are some great resorts there too.  Some of these you just walk out the door and you are in Epcot, that is a real treat too.  I hope this helps make your decision a bit easier and if we can help with any more of your planning, I hope you'll come back to the Mom's Panel.
