we are planning a 2 day visit for Thanksgiving day & heard that 'THEME" changes to Christmas overnight for Friday visit to the park? -- is this correct?

    Hi Doy!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. There is nothing else quite like Christmas time at Disneyland Resort and I'm so glad you are going to get the chance to experience the magic!

Most of the holiday decor at Disneyland Resort will actually go up much sooner, usually within the first week of November. The overnight theme change you may have heard of actually happens the night of Halloween. Guests will leave the parks on October 31st surrounded by fall decor and when they arrive on November 1st, they'll see touches of Christmas magic. The full decor will not be up for about a week or two though.

Since you'll be visiting at my favorite time of the year I must recommend you check out my favorite attraction, Haunted Mansion Holiday! The Haunted Mansion is transitioned in early fall with an overlay of one of my favorite movies, A Nightmare Before Christmas. It is certainly a must do and I hope you find time to experience it on your Thanksgiving trip!

Please let us know if you have any other questions before your Turkey Day vacation!
