I am planning an 8 to 12 day stay in Disney with my 13-year-old son, will be 14 when we go. What moderate and deluxe hotels are best for a young teen? For getting around without a car? Is there an extra cost for the arcades at the hotels?

Hi, Jean!  Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is a favorite moderate resort.  If you are wanting to get the most possible out of a resort and the budget allows a Deluxe resort, then the Polynesian Resort is the one for you.  It is my family's all-time favorite resort!  It has great atmosphere, a great pool, and location, location, location! Being on the monorail line makes getting around that much easier.  The arcades do cost extra. Like many arcades, they work on a point system.  You purchase an arcade card (it looks like a credit card) in the arcade with the number of points (which equals money) you want to have.  Different games cost different amounts of points.  When you select a game, then you simply slide the card in the machine to access the game. You can reload the card if you need more points. Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
