Planning a day to attempt getting handmade candy canes. Don’t qualify for early entry, so will resort guest be able to line up before 8am since they have early entry?

Happy Holidays to you, Ryan, and welcome back to planDisney!

It's certainly nice to see you here again and we appreciate you bringing your question to us!. How exciting that you're planning on trying to get your hands on one of those Hand-Pulled Candy Canes at the Disneyland Resort! These have been a tradition at the Resort since 1968 and prove to be extremely popular with Guests. Inventory is limited, so if you are able to purchase one, that'll make this Holiday truly special!

These Hand-Pulled Candy Canes will be made available at either Candy Palace and Candy Kitchen in Disneyland Park or Trolley Treats at Disney California Adventure. The Disney Eats Instagram account recently shared the dates for candy cane distribution at each Park, so please make sure you have the right Park and date. A Cast Member shared with me that you are able to check the Disneyland Mobile App for availability of Candy Canes, but you will still need to physically line up to sign up for the mobile waitlist. Have your entire party there with you and, if you make it onto the waitlist, you will receive a text message to return at an allotted time to pick up a coveted Candy Cane!

It's true that Disneyland Resort Hotel Guests enjoy Early Entry privileges into the rest of the Parks. However, since both Candy Palace and Trolley Treats are located on Main Street, U.S.A. and Buena Vista Street, respectively, all Park Guests will be allowed into these areas once the gates open because the Rope Drop barrier is deeper into the Parks. I would recommend that you arrive at the Park Entrance at least one hour before opening. Cast Members will begin allowing Guests into the Park about 30 minutes beforehand and you'll be able to wander around Main Street and Buena Vista Street. Once you are allowed through the gates, walk quickly to the candy shop so you can grab a spot in the line.

Ryan, I hope that this was helpful for you and I wish you the best of luck and plenty of pixie dust that you'll be able to get a Candy Cane this year! My family and I were lucky enough to grab one several years ago and it's still a core memory for us. If you have any more questions for us, feel free as always to reach out again. You're always welcome at planDisney! Until next time!

Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
