Hi planning 3 day April 2013 Bahama DC for our first cruise, was wondering about passport book vs passport card, can u use the card to get on/off the ship without any problems, or should we just get the book. Thanks

    Hi Holly!
Thanks for stopping by the Moms Panel with your question, and congratulations on your first voyage with Disney Cruise Line!  You have a lot to look forward to over the next few months as you plan for your magical sailing.
The main difference between the Passport Card vs. Passport Book is the international travel by air component.  If you apply for the Passport Card, you will be able to use it for embarkation and when passing through U.S. Customs after disembarking the ship.  Disney Cruise Line does recommend the Passport Book because they want you to be able to travel by air back to the U.S. if an unforeseen emergency occurs while out of the country.
I hope my answer helps with your decision, Holly.  If you think of any other questions, please let me know!  I'm always happy to assist future cruisers like you!
    Have a wonderful day!
