We’re planning a day in AK and dinner reservations at our resort-Disney Port Orleans… How much time should we plan on traveling from AK at closing to our resort?

Are you ready to fly on the back of a banshee, Catina!? Or, perhaps, come face to face with the legendary Yeti? This, and so much more, is waiting for you at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park!

Planning a day in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, followed by a dinner back at your resort hotel is a great way to spend a Disney Day! I recommend leaving 90 minutes to two hours for planning on leaving a park to travel back to your resort, and then be ready for your dinner reservation. The drive itself is only about 20 – 25 minutes from the park back to the resort, but you want to account for the time to wait for the bus to arrive, bus boarding (which can take longer if Guests require accommodations for wheelchairs or ECVs), and then make the stops at Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside (there are four). If you are comfortable stepping off the bus and heading right to your reservation, you can probably leave a little less time, but I usually like to head back to the room to refresh before a dining reservation.

Catina, it sounds like you’ve planned a really nice day! Starting the day at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is so peaceful! I always enjoy the walk from the park entrance to the themed lands! Then, of course, the adventure begins! There are so many fun attractions to enjoy! Finishing the day with a dining reservation back at your resort sounds perfect!

    Happy Planning!
