    I am planning my daughter's 2nd Birthday. I have an annual pass to WDW, but some of the guests I want to invite don't. I am thinking character lunch or a resort stay. Where would be the most fun for a 2yr old and not so expensive for the guests?

    Paige,

    There are a lot of great character meals in the resorts (as opposed to the parks) to choose from. No reason to ask every guest to drop $80 for a park pass, just to pay even more for a meal, to celebrate your daughter's birthday. However for lunch you are going to find yourself sadly short of options. I would instead recommend you go with a very early dinner reservation, which then allows your guests some time to explore the resorts before watching fireworks from wherever you end up.

    But where to go? We love 1900 Park Fare, and the dinner cast of characters (from Cinderella, including the hilarious evil step sisters!) is a great choice. But for a dinner that is also a bit of a family party, I think it might be too many distractions. For my preference, I would go with Chef Mickey's. I know it is a popular choice for many diners, but here is why I think it is especially good for your party;

    Fewer characters: Sounds counterintuitive that you would want fewer characters, but at Chef Mickey's I don't feel like I am constantly being visited. I like that there are some breaks in the action for your family and friends to connect and celebrate.

    Better characters: They are not better, per se, than the Cinderella crew. But with your party presumably having a wide range of ages, I think that the fab 5 have more broad appeal. And they probably are a better match to your daughter's interest. And she is the guest of honor, right?

    So that is my recommendation, assuming you want to go with a character meal. If you are interested in a non-character meal recommendation, I can offer a few alternatives.  Let me know if you want some other suggestions for the birthday celebration!

    Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
