Hi! We are planning on cruising to the Bahamas over New Years 2016. I am starting to get a little worried that the weather will be chilly and that we will not get to enjoy our planned excursions. Swimming with dolphins is a must! Advice?

Welcome aboard, Jennifer! Ringing in the New Year at sea with Disney Cruise Line will be such a magical start to 2017! I'm excited for your family to experience all that sailing with Disney has to offer!

I'm happy to let you know that my family has sailed with Disney during various winter months from November through February, and have always had very pleasant weather in the Bahamas. The highs tend to be in the upper 70's, which feel downright summer-like for us, coming from the ice and snow in Ohio at that time of year! Onboard, the pools are heated if the temperature drops below 75, so swimming onboard is usually pretty comfortable.

When your ship docks at Nassau, you'll absolutely love swimming with the dolphins. My daughter and I swam with the dolphins at Blue Lagoon in the winter, and the weather was great! The water was only slightly cooler than I'd like, and since they offered wetsuits for guests on the adventure, those kept us warm! I would have no problem recommending a fabulous dolphin swim in the winter, Jennifer!

While the temperatures will feel pleasant for the most part, do remember it can get chilly and breezy on deck, especially nights at sea, so plan to pack a light jacket or sweater to keep with you, just in case.

I hope that eases your fears of it being too cold to swim with the dolphins, Jennifer! I think you'll enjoy a wonderful adventure! Have fun planning!
