    We are planning a cruise soon but I'm concerned about my sons peanut allergy . Does the chef prepare foods separately so no cross-contamination and a selection of food to get ingredients if needed? Thanks!

    I totally understand your concern with your son's peanut allergy, and hope my answer helps you understand how Disney Cruise Line handles food allergies.  When you book your reservation make sure you son's peanut allergy is noted on your cruise reservation, and you will also be asked to fill out a Special Services form.  When you board the ship, I would double check with the dining staff that your son's allergy is noted on your reservation.  On the first night, the head waiter will visit your table to explain the chef's plan to address your son's needs.  Ingredients will be discussed and orders will be taken for the next night's dinner after your meal is finished.  During the day, be sure to talk with the head waiter if you dine in one of the main dining rooms.  They will go over ingredients with each visit and make sure your son is taken care of for breakfast and/or lunch.  If you plan to eat at the buffet, make sure to speak with a chef before making your selections.  He/she will be happy to explain which options are peanut-free, and always ask for an ingredient list when visiting the counter service as well.
