We are planning a cruise from Port Canaveral. We'd like to drive down day before, stay the night at WDW then use shuttle transportation from hotel to ship next morning. Will we be able to leave our car at Disney hotel during our cruise?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Laura!

I can't think of a better way to kick off your Disney Cruise Line vacation with a stop at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel!  I love walking through the resorts and taking in all the sights, sounds and smells that have been so beautifully planned out to completely transport you to another place.  Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of our family's favorite places to stay before a cruise so we can relax and watch the animals before starting out on our high seas adventure.  The smell in the lobby always makes me feel at home.

This morning I took some time to talk to our experts with the Walt Disney World Resorts team and found that overnight parking is reserved for guests registered and checked in at the resort.  If departing the property your vehicle does need to come with you.

Have you considered driving to Port Canaveral from your Walt Disney World Resort?  My family has done this quite a few times and have found it to be an easy drive.  We pick up a few Mickey snacks on the way out of the resort and make the drive a mini-road trip!  It is exciting to pull up to the port and have a great view from your car to see your ship waiting for you!  From Walt Disney World to Port Canaveral it takes us about an hour to drive.  Parking at Port Canaveral is very convenient and right next to the terminal.  You can visit the Disney Cruise Line website for specifics on parking rates.  There are some tolls so don't forget to plan for them when driving to the port.  Make it an adventure and enjoy the journey.

Bon voyage Laura and I hope you enjoy your magical vacation!  Angie
