We are planning a cruise on the Fantasy in September. Is it worth letting the Cruise Line take care of flight arrangements or is that an iffy situation? They give me a price for the flight but no itinerary.

Welcome aboard, Kimberly! Congratulations on your decision to book a very magical vacation on the Disney Fantasy! You will really enjoy everything that brand new ship has to offer!

We always book our own flights, as I am very particular about flights, both for scheduling and pricing reasons. There is really no advantage to letting Disney book it for you, unless you just don't want to hassle with it yourself. The prices will be similar to what you'll find on your own, so no real savings in having Disney arrange this.

If you'll be using Disney's Ground Transportation to and from the port, (which I highly recommend), you'll go back and add your flight info to your cruise reservation so they know when to expect you.

Disney's Ground Transportation is worth every penny you pay for that. Currently it is $35 per person each way to and from the port (going to either the airport or a Disney resort).

If you book your own flights, I do highly recommend flying in the night before, just to prevent you from missing the ship due to any flight changes, delays or cancellations. Stay at an airport hotel or even head over to one of Disney's resorts for the night, then take your Disney ground transportation from there in the morning. You'll feel good knowing you've arrived with plenty of time to spare, and why not get a fun Walt Disney World night out of this too? Even just spending a few hours the night before exploring Downtown Disney, so you don't have to purchase park tickets, is a fun thing to do.

Let me know how else I can help as you continue to plan, Kimberly!
