Ahoy, Mona!
Congratulations on planning your second Disney Cruise Line vacation! Your family will be Silver Castaway Club members on this trip, and you should find a small gift in your stateroom upon arrival!
My teen daughter absolutely loved spending time in the teen club, Vibe, on our July cruise. We rarely saw her, except at dinnertime. She even participated in
The Wild Side Teen Adventure on Castaway Cay with many of her new friends. She had a great day!
Once a child turns 18, they are legally an adult, and no longer eligible to visit the
Vibe on any Disney Cruise Line ship. If your daughter turns 18 in the middle of your cruise, she would only be able to go to Vibe for the first part of your trip. Once she turns 18, she would be able to spend time at the Quiet Cove pool, enjoy Spa treatments, and eat in the adult-exclusive restaurants.
If you decide to go ahead and keep your currently booked cruise, your daughter can enjoy the best of both worlds! She would meet a ton of friends in the beginning of your cruise, and be able to see and spend time with them for the whole cruise, everywhere on the ship except the Vibe. The new texting feature on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App was awesome for my daughter to exchange contact info with her new friends. You could even plan a special Birthday dinner at
Palo or Remy.
I hope this helps with your cruise planning. Please visit us again here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any more questions that arise before you set sail!
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
