We are planning on coming in October I was going to get the dining package with all three meals and two snacks if you don't check in until the afternoon can you come in early to do a character breakfast on the first day or on check out day at the end?

Hi, Jennifer! Yes, you can do either one! All your entitlements are issued when you check-in, and then you may use them however you would like to until you have depleted them. You can check-in anytime on your arrival date, even if it is before the official check-in time. You can leave your luggage and go to a character meal to get your vacation started right away.  However, if you prefer, you could save it until the end of your vacation as a final special experience. Your Disney Dining Plan entitlements do not expire until midnight on the checkout date of the package reservation. So, as long as you have entitlements left, you can use them until midnight of your last day.  We usually have snack credits left on check-out day and buy goodies for the plane or car ride home.  Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
