We are planning to bring my 70 year old mother on our May 2009 trip. Any ideas or recommendations. We do not want to "walk her to death" but we want her to have a magical time with our 5 year old daughter, my husband and I.

Hi from another Jersey girl!  I have traveled often with my parents and in-laws, all of whom are in the same age range as your mom.  The best thing to do is to plan your day so you hit a number of attractions in the same area to minimize walking, then maybe plan to see a show or grab a bite to eat, where your mom can sit and relax.  For example, you can do Buzz Lightyear; Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor; and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority - all things your 5 year old will enjoy; and then maybe do the Carousel of Progress, which is a nice way to catch a break in the cool air conditioning.

Another thing you can do is help Mom build up a little stamina with mall walking.  Living in Jersey, it seems we have a mall every few miles!  I like to take my mom out for a few weekends before a Walt Disney World trip just so she can walk around the mall.  It's a good way to break in new shoes and prepare for the demands of the theme parks!
