Hey there, Penny! Welcome to
planDisney, and thank you for your question.
Walt Disney World gladly allows guests to bring their own food and beverages into the theme parks. There are just a
handful of rules that you need to be aware of, and one of those rules is that the food cannot be heated or reheated.
There are alternatives to the monotony of cold sandwiches for lunch. My first suggestion has to do with your table service meal. If you are planning one big, sit-down meal each day of your trip, make some of your
dining reservations for lunch instead of dinner. We often find that portions are pretty generous at the
Walt Disney World restaurants, so if you plan your big meal at lunchtime, you can probably just grab a snack in the evening and heat up your barbecue or chili when you get back to your
resort room. This suggestion also works if you hit up a buffet breakfast or lunch. My gang can take down some breakfast at a buffet, but then we usually find we skip lunch in favor of a Mickey ice cream bar or some popcorn. If you have a snack at lunch, you can do your heat-up meal in the evening back at your resort.
Another idea is to mix up the sandwich routine with some salads or yogurt parfaits. If you're driving from Texas and bringing a cooler, you can make some things ahead of time that can be eaten at room temperature, like mini quiches or egg bites.
I hope your family enjoys a delightfully delicious vacation, Penny!
