We are planning to bring our dog to us when we stay at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. Do I need to add that to our current reservation? If so, do I need to request a certain area of cabins that are pet friendly? Thanks!

Hello there, Kathy! Greetings from everyone here at planDisney! We are so excited that you’ve taken the time to stop by and ask an excellent Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are the perfect way of experiencing the wonder of the great outdoors while being nestled right in the magic of Walt Disney World Resort! The forest that contains this resort is approximately 750 acres and is home to all sorts of local critters such as ducks, deer, armadillos, and rabbits. Additionally, Guests can look forward to a variety of recreational activities, exploring the relaxing, wooded trails around the resort, splashing around in fun pool areas, and dining on comfort foods at the various dining locations here!

Walt Disney World Resort now has four different Disney Resort hotels that have designated dog-friendly accommodations for your furry friends with The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort being one of them! Guests having their furry family members accompany them must adhere to the Walt Disney World Resort Dog Policies throughout their stay and notify your Disney Resort hotel that you will have a dog on your reservation. This may be done by calling (407) 939-7539 prior to your stay.

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is a wonderful place to stay with your pet due to the amount of space for you and your pup to explore! You will also find that there are multiple dog relief areas around the resort as well as the Waggin’ Trails Dog Park for your convenience. These trails are also a great way to get your dog some exercise and fun during his “vacation” as well!

I hope this information assists you in continuing to plan for your trip with your furry friend to Walt Disney World Resort! Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you as well!
