Hiya, Sofia. Welcome to
planDisney! How exciting that you’ll be visiting the
Disneyland Resort for the first time together. I’m sure there will be magic in the air.
I visited Disneyland last weekend and don’t recall seeing any construction walls near the
Haunted Mansion. The 999 happy haunts must have scared away all the construction workers. There was a lengthy construction project in the grounds and queue outside the Haunted Mansion over the last couple of years, so perhaps that is what you saw circulating on the internet. That is all complete now, and the attraction is as spooky as ever.
I can confirm that some of the facades on
Main Street are covered for painting refurbishment. The covers are called scrims, and they have the original facade printed on them so as not to distract as much from the overall look. There has been no official word from Disney regarding the project’s completion, so we’ll just have to wait.
In the end, I don’t think the scrims on Main Street are going to dampen the experience to the point of cancelling the trip. There is always a chance that something in the park will be under refurbishment, since Disneyland Resorts prides itself on the upkeep of its attractions. Also, all of the stores and restaurants on Main Street are still open for business.
Did you know that the
Galaxy’s Edge Timeline Expansion takes place on April 29th?! That means your favorite characters from Star Wars episodes IV, V, and VI will be out and about. Just don’t ask Luke how his dad is doing. It’s a touchy subject. Most characters can’t make you leave, but Luke definitely will Force you. I will point out that
Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite is taking place on May 4th, so be sure to check the park's
Hours & Events Schedule.
