We are planning a big family trip for Christmas of 2017 or 2018. We will use our points for a 2 bedroom. My question is do we get a discounted price if we have to book another villa for cash?

    Hi Julie!

How exciting to be planning a family Christmas celebration at the Most Magical Place on Earth. The holidays at Walt Disney World are a truly beautiful time to visit, with lights and decor, sounds, scents and tastes designed to put you and your family into the Christmas spirit! You are wise to begin your planning as soon as possible in order to secure your preferred reservations.

Member Services does sometimes have room inventory that can be reserved by Members at a discounted rate. The discount varies depending on season. The number of rooms that are available is limited however, so there is never a guarantee that the room type you would like will be available with a discount. If discounted rooms are available, they can be booked up to 11 months in advance. My advice would be to book your room with your points and to inquire about any cash discounts as close to the 11 month mark as possible.

While visiting the Walt Disney World Resort at Christmastime, you may enjoy Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. In the past, Disney Vacation Club Members have received a discount to the party. If discounted tickets would be available to Members, it would be announced under the Membership Magic tab on DVCMember.com in the spring before your trip.

I also recommend the Merry Member Mixer. This is a special holiday gathering just for Disney Vacation Club Members on select nights. It often takes place in a theme park, so park admission is required, but the event itself is free to Members. It’s a great opportunity to mingle with other Members, delight in some holiday treats and bring home a Disney Vacation Club souvenir.

I hope you have fun as you plan your family vacation. Come back and visit us if you have other questions as you plan this most magical of holidays!
