I am planning to use banked points and current use points to make a reservation. If I need to change it later (more than 31 days in advance) would I still be able to bank the current year use points to the following year if I won’t use them that year?

Hi there, Jacob--welcome to the Disney Vacation Club corner of planDisney! You've got a friend (and fellow Member) in me, and I'm excited to help you with your question today.

Banking and borrowing are serious DVC business. If you're anything like me, you're regularly checking your Vacation Points and calculating how to use them for a practically perfect vacation. Being able to use your points flexibly is perhaps the best aspect of Membership in my book--we've combined points creatively over the years to fit our needs for trips large and small!

So what happens to points from two different buckets--banked points and current Use Year points--in the event a reservation is canceled or modified? Jacob, I'm happy to report that you would be able to bank the Vacation Points that are part of your current Use Year. Two important points to note:
    • The reservation must be modified at least 31 days before check-in.
    • You must bank the points before your banking deadline.
Jacob, I hope you can creatively combine your points for a magical vacation soon! Thanks so much for your question, and please don't hesitate to reach out again if you're in need of additional planning advice.

    Welcome Home!
