Hi there, Brody!
Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney! How exciting that you are planning a Walt Disney World vacation for next year. Christmas and Disney go hand in hand, as there are so many additional magic touches when the parks are decked to the halls. Our family is jingling all the way to Disney this year, and between
EPCOT's Festival of the Holidays and seeing Magic Kingdom dressed in its holiday best, I am like a kid waking up on Christmas morning!
Brody, you are correct that banking, borrowing, and purchasing one-time Use Points are some of the ways you can stretch Member Magic to book your dream vacation. The other option is to combine Vacation Points and Cash for your booking. The one thing to note about this option is that each night has to be paid fully by either Vacation Points or cash, but you can't use both to pay for the same night. So, for example, if you are booking a seven-night stay at a
Disney Vacation Club Resort, and you have enough Vacation Points for three nights, but not quite enough for a fourth, you could use Cash for nights four through seven. But you couldn't split night four between Vacation Points and Cash to use up all of your Vacation Points.
The combination of
Vacation Points and Cash is only available for
Disney Vacation Club Resorts, or if you book a
Disney Cruise Line sailing or an
Adventures By Disney vacation. In these cases, a whole person's reservation must be paid for either in Vacation Points or Cash, but you can't split one person's booking with both Vacation Points and Cash. We recently did this for our upcoming Disney Cruise and booked our teenager's reservation with Vacation Points and paid Cash for the rest of our family.
If you would like to do a combination booking for your Christmas vacation, give
Member Services a call and they can assist you with this and planning the jolliest holiday for your family. I hope this helps you, Brody! If you have any other Disney Vacation planning questions, dash back here and I'll be so happy to help you.
Happy Holidays!
