Planning to attend the Mickey Not so scarey halloween party on Oct 13. Questions: do the children need to dress up & where in the park are the trick-or-treating locations, where is the parade held, and where you do recommend watching it from?

    Hi Julie,

I went to my first Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party last week and I had a fantastic time. There were lots of people dressed up but many who were in their normal clothes too, it is completely up to you and your family if you want to dress up or not. Don't worry you can still participate in everything including the trick-or-treating if you decide not to dress up.

As you enter the Magic Kingdom for the party you will be handed a party map, this will show you all the trick-or-treat locations throughout the park. There are about 13 spots and they're marked on the map with a circular Goofy's Candy Counter symbol. The map also shows the parade route, it starts in Frontierland and ends by the Main Street Train Station. Anywhere along the route offers a good view but I like to watch in Frontierland as it's normally quiet and once the parade has passed you can go and ride some attractions whilst lots of people are still watching the parade further down the route.

If you want a sneak preview of the party map you can see a copy of the 2009 one by going to wdwinfo.com/holidays/photos/mnsshp-map3.htm

I hope that helps and you have a fantastic time,

    Jo
