We are planning to attend the first part of December and was considering the MVMCP. My little girl has celiac & requires a gluten free diet. Will there be several options available for her or will I need to bring her treats so she feels included?

    Hi Ashton,

    Welcome to planDisney!

Mickey's Verry Merry Christmas Party is one of my absolute favorite activities at the Walt Disney World® Resort! Although I did take my girls to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party a few years ago, I contacted the Special Dietary Requests team to inquire about options for this year's party to get you the most current information. They indicated that there will be allergy-friendly options at select treat locations during the party. They also suggested that you speak with a cast member as soon as you arrive to the party to discuss allergy-friendly alternatives and to inquire about ingredient lists.

Although one of our girls has four significant food allergies, we love visiting Disney because cast members have provided great support and we love using the online restaurant menus to review allergy-friendly options prior to our visits. Even so, we always bring a few of our own snacks. So, I suggest that you do the same. I always do so just in case the allergy-friendly options we need are not available or in case a child does not want the options available. One of my fellow panelists did note that on her last visit to the party she saw gluten free hot cocoa at Joffrey's.

When I took my girls to the Christmas party, we also had dinner in Magic Kingdom before the official party started so that the girls would definitely have an allergy-friendly meal before we enjoyed the party. I highly recommend that you do so as well and make an advanced dining reservation. Guests with party tickets this year can check-in starting at 4:00 p.m. and the party officially starts at 7:00 p.m. so I suggest making a reservation for dinner no later than 5:00 p.m. Consider Crystal Palace if reservations are available. Although requests are not guaranteed, we always request a window table.

Ashton, I hope you have booked a vacation package with a Disney Resorts Collection hotel and theme park tickets. If you only plan to come to the Christmas party, I still encourage you to spend at least one or two nights in a Disney hotel. We adore Disney's Contemporary Resort because it is within walking distance to Magic Kingdom. One last note - your visit should coincide with the Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort. I hope you get a chance to enjoy holiday festivities at the other theme parks during your visit!

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
