We want to eat at The Edison in Disney Springs the first two weeks of January. What day/time should we book to enjoy the magicians and other live, non-musical performers such as acrobats, dancers, etc? (We don’t enjoy concert style meals)

    Hi Jaimee,

    Welcome to planDisney!

Dining at the The Edison sounds like a good plan! Let's talk about your options. While you can certainly make an advanced dining reservation, when I spoke with the hostess today, the hostess indicated musical entertainment occurs on Sundays through Thursdays from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. and on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. At this time, the hostess noted that there are no other entertainment options.

Looking at your arrival date, the good news is that you still have time. Since you do not enjoy concert style meals, you may need to find another dining location. Or, keep checking as it gets closer to your arrival date to see if the restaurant has any updates about additional performers. When I spoke with a few other panelists about your question, one suggested that you consider Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil® & Disney located at Disney Springs and, if you decide not to dine at The Edison, I would suggest dinner at Chef Art Smith's Homecomin'.

If you want to see other entertainment, we also have several panelists (including me!) who love the entertainment on Disney's BoardWalk. Stop by to see some of the evening street performers. Enjoy the atmosphere, or take advantage of one of the dining options here. We love Trattoria al Forno and Cape May Cafe at Disney's Beach Club Resort. Remember also that it's easy to venture out on the BoardWalk from EPCOT's International Gateway Entrance.

Jaimee, I hope this gives you a few options to consider! Since you have some time, I would check again to see if there has been any update to the performance schedule for The Edison. I am sending a wish to the Evening Star, in the spirit of Tiana, hoping that you make the most magical plans!

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
