We are planning to arrive at Disney on Thanksgiving Day. Do you have any restaurants that will be doing anything special for Thanksgiving

The best source of information I found about dining at Disney on Thanksgiving is the website wdwinfo.com. Go to this site and search for an article called Thanksgiving at Disney World 2008. The 2009 restaurant plans and menus have not been released yet, but this article will give you an idea of what went on last year.

You will find LOTS of yummy Thanksgiving food at WDW. Historically, virtually every restaurant at WDW will have some special offerings for Thanksgiving. The buffets will have modifications or additions to suit the holiday. Many of the menu-oriented table service meals will have more limited choices than usual. Rather than the full menu of maybe 20 options, they might have more like 4 or 5 special Thanksgiving choices.

In 2008, my family had our Thanksgiving dinner at the California Grill at the top of the Contemporary. There was a choice of four appetizers: jumbo California roll, butternut squash soup, pork pate, or fall salad. The entree choices were: oak-fired filet of beef, seared scallops, butternut squash ravioli, grilled pork tenderloin, and of course, spit-roasted turkey with traditional stuffing, potatoes, green beans, gravy, and cranberry relish. The dessert choices were pumpkin cheesecake, warm Valrhona chocolate cake, pecan pie parfait, or apple tart. There were also wine pairings available. I chose the squash soup, turkey entree, and pecan parfait dessert -- just like home (only better). We were able to have our wonderful meal while watching the Wishes fireworks display from the restaurant windows. So special.

I will be at WDW again during Thanksgiving 2009. This year we are planning to have our main meal at Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge. I can't wait!
