Planning for 12/18 - 12/23. Has anyone been the week b/f Christmas? Always go off peak, but not comfortable taking kids out of school anymore. Other option is spring break, but if crowds are about the same I'll take cooler temps and holiday decs. Thoughts?

    Hi Jennifer!

I'm in EXACTLY the same boat as you. In fact, this year our family is planning on traveling in December for that same reason!

Personally, I love the weeks leading up to the Christmas holidays. Typically, the days are cooler but still enjoyable. The best thing, though, is enjoying all of the holiday decorations and celebrations but without the peak crowds of Christmas week.

If you do go during that week, be sure to check out the decorations at all of the resorts as well! They are worth an afternoon of exploring! My favorite is the Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian. It really is a sight to see (and SMELL!).

Hope you have a great time!
