Hi Erica!
First of all, a big Congratulations to your parents for 50 yEARs together! That is an incredible milestone to be celebrating! Plus, it's Walt Disney World's 50th, too!
A couple of things…be sure to note on your reservations that you will be celebrating their anniversary. Also, when checking into your hotel, you can ask the Cast Member for Anniversary celebration buttons for your parents, and for “I’m Celebrating” buttons for all other members of your family. The Cast Member will usually write what the celebration is on the buttons. It’s fun for everyone to have a button!
You also might look into getting fun matching shirts for December 11 for your whole party. My family won’t dress alike every day of our vacation, but for such a special occasion, they would make an exception.
shopDisney has quite a few fun customizable t-shirt options.
I wasn’t positive of how many people we are talking about for your day of fun, but I do have a couple of ideas. You could book a
Private VIP Tour for the group. These accommodate up to groups of 10 per tour, and are a great way to keep your group together when navigating through the parks. You can customize your day, and do all of the attractions that Mom & Dad love for that day, with no waiting in line.
Another fun idea is a private
Fireworks Cruise. These have just recently opened back up for booking, and you can choose to do a cruise to see either Magic Kingdom’s new "Disney Enchantment" or Epcot’s new "Harmonious" Fireworks shows from the boat. These cruises accommodate up to 10 people as well, and I would recommend booking it as soon as possible. You can always cancel up to 2 days before.
I wish you and your parents all the best while celebrating at
The Most Magical Place on Earth!
Happy Planning,
Tracy
