We are planning to add the park hopper to our 9 day tickets. Instead of also adding the water park for additional $50, is it true that we can just pay $10 each time we want to go.

Unfortunately not. You could buy a singe-day water park admission; however, this will cost much more than $10. The prices were just raised this weekend and a one-day water park ticket now costs $45 for an adult.

The Water Park Fun & More add-on to a Park Hopper currently costs about $50. Since you have a 9-day ticket, for that flat $50 fee you would be give NINE water park or DisneyQuest admissions. For a financial standpoint if you're going to more than one water park, or to a water park and DisneyQuest, or to any of these on more than one day, the WPF&M option makes far more sense.
