Greetings, Nikki, and welcome to planDisney! Just like Tiana sang, you're almost there! You'll be soaking up some sunshine and magic at
Walt Disney World Resort before you can eat a Mickey beignet! I'm so disappointed your friend can't join you, but let's discuss some options.
I spoke to a friendly Cast Member who said if you booked your trip as a
Vacation Package and bundled your hotel and tickets, you could cancel your friend's ticket. Your resort reservation will remain the same, but you can
call the Existing Tickets line to have the ticket removed. You should get a refund for the cost of the ticket minus a cancellation fee.
If you booked your
Disney Resort Hotel and
Theme Park Tickets separately, the tickets are non-refundable, but the value of an unused ticket will remain in your account. You could reassign the ticket to another guest or apply the cost of that ticket to a future ticket. If you need help, call that
Existing Tickets line in this scenario, as well.
Finally, if you booked through a third-party travel agent, they could help you based on the specific vacation booking. In addition, travel agents sometimes include trip insurance for their clients, so that's something to check into.
Nikki, I'm sending a shower of pixie dust in hopes that your upcoming visit is still just as magical. If you're going solo, I know you'll have a blast. I've visited on my own, and the free, relaxed pace is surprisingly fun. Like that princess from New Orleans, you're getting closer and closer every day! And
planDisney will be here to help with any other questions.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
