We have planned our first trip with our daughters ages 6 and 3 February 16 - 22. I am very worried as I have read that this is one of the busiest times of year with Presidents day weekend. How does this compare to the busy months of summer?

    MaryBeth,

So the start of your week should be fairly average, in terms of crowd levels. However as soon as the weekend starts, the crowds reach very high levels. Frankly, some of the highest of the year, excluding the holiday season. Even at times worse than the summer months, but basically on par with the summer.

I know that this is not what you wanted to hear, but the truth, in this case, helps. You can plan around it somewhat. Visit the Magic Kingdom right when you get there, as it is sure to be much busier as your trip wears on.

And one positive note. If the last time you were here was back in the 70s and 80s and you are remembering with dread the summer crowds of that time, take heart. That was back in the days of only one park. Now there are four parks, Downtown Disney, and more Orlando-area attractions than in the past. Crowds do have more places to go, so it may not be as bad as you remember!

Write me back if you have further questions as I have daughters that same age, and am glad to help more!

    Have a magical vacation!
