Bienvenida, Marta...we're glad you stopped by planDisney with your question!
The original San Angel Inn is a well-known restaurant in Mexico City that sits on a former monastery's grounds. Lucky for us, we don't even need a passport to visit
EPCOT's
San Angel Inn Restaurante! I start craving some Queso Fundido and an Avocado Margarita every time I sail by on the
Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. The dimly lit restaurant creates the perfect ambiance for a romantic anniversary meal. Where else can you sit across from your Prince Charming while a volcano erupts nearby?! Fun fact...if you look close enough, you might see a hidden Mickey materialize at times in the rising smoke!
I understand how disappointing it feels when you can't get into a restaurant that you've been looking forward to experiencing. During these times of social distancing, restaurant capacity has been reduced, which may be why you are having trouble getting a reservation. When this happens to me, I enlist the help of an online reservation finder tool. If you do a Google search, several websites will pop up; my favorite is Touring Plans. Most will charge a small subscription fee. My other piece of advice is to check the Walt Disney World website often. I've been able to find some coveted last-minute reservations, especially if willing to dining at off-peak times; those "early bird" 4:00 PM dinner reservations are usually easier to get. If this doesn't work, and you have your heart set on Mexican food, try getting a reservation at
La Hacienda de San Angel, located just across the path. It may not have the same atmosphere, but the food is delicious!
I hope this helps, Marta! Don't forget to say hola to José Carioca for me!
