Hello, Bram, and welcome to planDisney!
It’s wonderful to hear from you all the way from Belgium, and even more exciting that you’re joining the
Walt Disney World Annual Passholder family! Being an Annual Passholder comes with so many magical perks, from discounts on dining and merchandise to special resort offers and, of course, those unforgettable park days.
Now, let’s talk about your upcoming arrival. Since your flight is scheduled to land at 8:00 PM, I completely understand your concern about whether you’ll have time to activate your Annual Pass that same evening, especially since it’s required to keep your Passholder Disney Resort discount in place.
I reached out to Guest Services on your behalf, and here’s what I learned: Annual Passes must be activated in person at a Guest Relations location, either at Disney Springs or outside any of the four theme parks. The official policy states that the Annual Pass needs to be activated by midnight on your check-in day in order for the Passholder rate to remain valid. Otherwise, the system may automatically revert your reservation to the standard, non-discounted room rate.
Disney Springs Guest Relations is typically open until 11:00 PM, so if your flight is only slightly delayed and you’re eager to get there, you may still have time to activate your pass that night.
Guest Relations windows at the theme parks generally remain open about an hour after the park closes, so if you’re feeling ambitious, and one of the parks is conveniently located near your hotel, you might consider heading straight to one of those locations instead.
However, if travel delays prevent you from making it in time, I recommend speaking with a Cast Member at the Front Desk when you arrive. While it’s not guaranteed, I’ve heard of situations where the Annual Passholder rate was reinstated after check-in on a case-by-case basis, especially when there were unavoidable circumstances. Disney Cast Members are known for their kindness and flexibility, so it never hurts to ask politely and explain the situation.
And since you’re visiting during
V.I.Passholder Days, I want to make sure you don’t miss out on an especially tasty perk! From Monday through Thursday this summer, Passholders can enjoy 40% off at select dining locations, including:
• Boatwright’s Dining Hall
• Cape May Café (dinner only)
• Hollywood & Vine
• Toledo – Tapas, Steak & Seafood
• Tusker House Restaurant (lunch and dinner only)
If any of those are on your Disney foodie wish list, I definitely recommend making an advance dining reservation.
Wishing you safe and smooth travels across the Atlantic, Bram! If any more questions pop up as your magical adventure approaches, please don’t hesitate to reach out again.
See ya real soon,
Eean
